Georgetown Bighorn Sheep Festival
10am to 4pm - Georgetown, Colorado
This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to catch a glimpse of rutting sheep in one of Colorado’s oldest Bighorn sheep herds. The sheep viewing station is located on Argentine Street near the Georgetown Lake and will be manned by volunteers and Division of Wildlife employees to help you and your family learn about Colorado’s state mammal. Spotting scopes are provided and other activities abound! Short wildlife educational programs are offered in the Community Center for the whole family. Additional activities for the children include Kids Corner Crafts, face painting, Colorado Critters Parade, and the Bighorn Hokey Pokey.

53rd Annual Georgetown Christmas Market

Visit Georgetown on the first two weekends of December for an old world Christmas in quaint Georgetown. For the last 53 years, Georgetown has been hosting this unique outdoor European-inspired Market in the Rocky Mountains. The Market features handcrafted gifts & holiday shopping opportunities, horse-drawn wagon rides, free entertainment and admission, carolers, roasted chestnuts, appearances by St. Nicholas in his traditional robes, Christmas tours of the Hamill House & Hotel de Paris Museums, and the Santa Lucia Children’s Procession. more

Enjoy the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree candles, open bar, hors d’oeuvres, Wassail & Yule log presentation, caroling with the Silver Plume Singers, and the fellowship that is the foundation of the holidays in Georgetown. The Hamill House Museum, decked with fresh greenery and classic decorations, will open its doors to friends, members, and newcomers in the spirit of a memorable Colorado Christmas.
